Overview

The artwork The Triumph of Love was inspired by the story of a couple who, despite social pressure, cultural differences, and circumstances, chose love, family, and the right to be themselves.

Concept & Manifesto

On the Value of Family

What is important to any child in this world? Is the house he was born in or Is his parents' skin color or Is the status of his family or is the country maybe?

It is important for any child to be protected by their parents and grow up surrounded by love and care. This is all a little person who comes into this world needs.

And there are no more caring and loving parents than same-sex couples. After all, in order for a child to appear in such a family, parents should make much more effort than in heterosexual families where children are sometimes born by chance. This is a deliberate decision and a great desire to have a child.

Social Context

So when the all civilized world strives for a gender equality, in my country there is a law is prohibiting the promotion of non-traditional sexual relations among minors.

Same-sex families in Russia are not admitted by law. They can't have children and have no rights. Someone leaves the country for the future of their kids. But we don't wanna to leave the country. We want the laws that make LGBT families into criminals will change.

Inspiration & Symbolism

Inspired by a transgender couple from the Monac Indian tribe who are pregnant with their second child. These are beautiful and courageous people who are ready to overcome difficulties on the way to their happiness. Their story is incredible support for everyone who faces a choice, who is afraid of public condemnation, who is afraid of becoming an outcast in their country, who is forced to leave and break away from their roots to have the freedom of love right.

In the center of the composition is the iconic Soviet symbol "Hammer and Sickle" which personifies my country and the attitude of the state towards gender in generally. During the period of the USSR there were no men and women, there was a worker and a collective farmer.

But despite all the difficulties, national characteristics, legal norms and religious restrictions people continue to love each other, create unions and have kids.

The right of the happiness is given by birth.

Digital Evolution

Several years later, through the evolving capabilities of digital art, the artwork has received a new conceptual dimension. This artistic evolution brings a renewed opportunity to speak once again about something that remains foundational: the right to happiness is given by birth.
